WHAT WE GROW

What You Can Expect
We grow a wide range of vegetables and it’s ever changing (call it the farmer’s whim) in their proper seasons. You’ll find must-have staples such as asparagus, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, peppers, leeks, lettuce, kale, chard, beets, squash, cucumbers, radishes, beans and herbs, to name a handful—all in great varieties and taste-tested.

We also grow fruit in abundance. We’ve got your blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and melons. And our orchards are filled with modern apples like Honeycrisp, Ambrosia and Pink Lady, but also some of the flavorful heirlooms like Arkansas Black, Albemarle Pippin and Esopus Spitzenburg—and sometimes varieties we create on our own. Rounding out the lineup are peaches, nectarines and cherries. Again, our orchards are bursting with plenty of varieties for you to choose from and try.

Our offering is very dependent on Mother Nature, of course. Most seasons, she is quite cooperative—but nothing is ever certain when you grow outdoors.

Unusual Produce
We take great pride in growing unique and unusual vegetables along with the customary Shenandoah Valley fare. You might find kohlrabi, purple beans and colored potatoes to name a few (and we’ve discovered we seem to favor purple-hued veggies! Not only do they taste great, but they have extra nutrients, which form the color). If you come across an item you’ve never seen or tried at our market, feel free to ask about cooking tips or recipes. Broadening your scope by trying new foods is pretty exciting!
And a Few Other Things...
We sell a small selection of other wholesome products we make from scratch with care: fresh-baked breads, jams and jellies, chutneys, apple butter, vinegars, sauces and salsas, and whatever other specialty concoctions we dream up—plus honey from our busy bees.
